Stage 1
Paid, verification not yet started
100% refund
You have paid but your passport has not yet been verified by our Certifying Acceptance Agent. Cancel at any point in this stage and the full service fee is returned.
Refund Policy
Every ITIN case moves through three stages. What we return depends on which stage your case has reached when you ask, and whether the fault is ours.

Request a refund
Email support@itin.expert with the applicant name and, if you have one, the IRS notice.
Service fees cover W-7 preparation, Certifying Acceptance Agent (CAA) passport verification, and tracked mailing to the IRS. The IRS charges no filing fee, so the amounts below refer only to the fee paid to itinexpert LLC.
Stage 1
100% refund
You have paid but your passport has not yet been verified by our Certifying Acceptance Agent. Cancel at any point in this stage and the full service fee is returned.
Stage 2
50% refund
CAA verification has been completed but your Form W-7 package has not left our office. The verification session itself cannot be undone, so half of the service fee is retained and the rest is returned.
Stage 3
Service delivered
Once the package is in transit to the IRS ITIN Operation, the paid work has been completed. No cancellation refund applies from this point; the guarantees below continue to protect your case.
If the IRS issues a notice about a form entry or supporting document that can be corrected, we prepare and resubmit the corrected package at no additional charge. For the Standard package this coverage lasts 45 days from the notice date; for Priority it continues until the ITIN is issued or the IRS makes a final determination.
If an application fails because of a mistake in our preparation, our verification, or our mailing, you choose: a complete refund of the service fee, or a full re-file at our expense.
When a re-file requires your passport to be verified again, the second CAA session is part of the package and is never billed separately.
We cannot refund or re-file for free when the outcome was driven by facts we did not control, including:
We commit to our own preparation windows: Priority cases are ready to mail within 1 to 3 business days of a completed verification, Standard cases within 7 business days. Once the package reaches the IRS, review normally takes 7 to 11 weeks and can run longer during peak filing season or when the IRS requests more information. Delays inside the IRS are outside our control and do not by themselves qualify for a refund.
Email us
Write to support@itin.expert from the address used at checkout. Put "Refund request" in the subject line and include the applicant name.
Attach the notice, if any
For a rejection-based request, attach the IRS letter (typically CP566 or CP567). For a cancellation, simply state that you wish to stop.
We confirm the stage
Within 2 business days we reply with the stage your case is in, the amount due back, and any clarifying questions.
Funds are returned
Approved refunds are sent to the original payment method through Stripe within 5 business days of approval. Your bank may take a further 5 to 10 business days to post the credit.
Please contact us before disputing a charge with your card issuer. A refund request handled through support is usually faster than a dispute, and a chargeback filed while a case is in Stage 2 or Stage 3 pauses all work on the application until the dispute is closed.
The version in force on the date you paid governs your order. If we revise these terms, the new text applies only to payments made after the revision date shown at the top of this page.
