1. Agreement
These terms form a contract between you and itinexpert LLC, a Mississippi limited liability company, each time you place an order on ITIN.expert. By paying at checkout you confirm that you have read them, together with the Privacy Policy and Refund Policy, and agree to be bound by them. If you order on behalf of a spouse, dependent, or company, you confirm you are authorised to do so.
2. What we do
Every package includes the following work, carried out by or under the supervision of an IRS Certifying Acceptance Agent:
- A review of your reason for needing an ITIN and the evidence the IRS expects for it.
- Preparation of Form W-7 and the accompanying certificate of accuracy.
- Verification of your passport during a live video session, so the original need not be mailed.
- Assembly and tracked mailing of the package to the IRS ITIN Operation.
- Case updates until the IRS issues a decision, plus the post-decision support described in your package.
We are not a law firm and do not give legal advice. Tax-return preparation, if you need it, is a separate engagement and is not part of an ITIN package unless your order says so.
3. What we need from you
- Truthful and complete answers on the intake form, and a passport that is valid on the day of verification.
- Supporting documents in legible form, delivered within the deadlines we set for your case.
- Attendance at the scheduled verification session with the original passport in hand.
- A review of the draft W-7 before we mail it. Once you approve the draft, its contents are your responsibility.
- Prompt notice if you obtain a Social Security Number, an ITIN, or a change of address while the case is open.
4. The IRS decides
Only the IRS can issue an ITIN. We prepare and certify applications to the standard the IRS requires, but we cannot promise approval, a particular processing time, or that the IRS will not ask for more information. IRS review currently takes 7 to 11 weeks after receipt and can be longer in peak season. Postal transit times, IRS backlogs, and government shutdowns are outside our control. What happens if an application is rejected is set out in the Refund Policy.
5. Fees and payment
The price shown at checkout is the full service fee. It includes preparation, verification, and mailing; the IRS charges nothing to process a W-7. Extras that fall outside the package are quoted before any work starts:
- Courier delivery of physical originals you choose to send us.
- Preparation of a tax return or other attachment that is not already complete when you order.
- Additional applicants added after the first case is underway.
Payments are processed by Stripe in U.S. dollars. We may change package prices or contents at any time; an order you have already paid for is delivered on the terms in force when you paid.
6. Cancellation and refunds
Refund amounts depend on how far your case has progressed and are described stage by stage in the Refund Policy, which forms part of these terms. We may cancel an order and refund it in full if we conclude before verification that the applicant is not eligible, or if the documents supplied cannot be certified.
7. Accuracy and misuse
Submitting false statements or altered documents to the IRS is a federal offence. If we have reason to believe a document is not genuine or that an applicant is not who they claim to be, we will stop work, decline to certify, and may report the matter as the law requires. No refund is due in that situation.
8. Limits on our liability
To the extent permitted by law:
- Our total liability for any claim connected with an order is limited to the service fee paid for that order.
- We are not liable for lost refunds, penalties, missed deadlines, lost income, or other indirect losses arising from IRS delay or rejection.
- Nothing in these terms excludes liability for fraud or for losses caused by our own gross negligence.
9. Website content
Articles, checklists, and tools on ITIN.expert are general information, not advice on your particular circumstances, and may be out of date when you read them. All site content is owned by itinexpert LLC or its licensors and may not be copied or republished without permission.
10. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Mississippi and the federal laws of the United States. If a problem arises, write to us first; most issues are resolved by email within a few days. Any dispute that cannot be settled that way will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Hinds County, Mississippi, and you agree to that jurisdiction.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The version dated at the top of this page applies to orders placed on or after that date; earlier orders remain under the terms accepted at checkout.
